From 1969 to 1971, the new 2.2-liter engine brought a refreshing change. With the larger displacement flat-six and mechanical fuel injection (MFI), the 2.2 S delivered 180 horsepower, about 20 horsepower more than its predecessor, allowing it to reach a top speed of 230 km/h, with improved weight distribution but also increased overall stability and handling.

The Porsche 911 2.2 S was among the first production Porsches to feature the iconic Fuchs wheels. Designed in collaboration with Otto Fuchs KG, these forged aluminum alloy wheels were revolutionary, significantly reducing unsprung weight while maintaining exceptional strength and durability. Their distinctive five-spoke design became a defining visual element of the 911 lineage.

Combining daily use with track performance, the 911 was prized by racers for any event. And by any event, we mean absolutely everything: from the most famous motor racing circuits to the most treacherous rallies. Among the success, Björn Waldegård, who piloted a 911 2.2 S, won in the 1969 Monte Carlo Rally, with another win in the 1970 Scandinavian Cup.

Thanks to a meticulous restoration performed a decade ago, the car is in perfect condition in every respect. The bodywork wears its rare, factory-correct ‘Grünmetallic’ (code 8383).

Inside, the cabin has been fully restored with seats upholstered in black leatherette and the rare Pepita cloth. Mechanically, every component was carefully examined, with the 2,195cc air-cooled flat-six engine and dog-leg 5-speed gearbox rebuilt to offer reliability. The Fuchs wheels, designed in collaboration with Otto Fuchs KG, remain a defining feature, contributing to the car’s lightweight handling dynamics. Further enhancing its period-correct authenticity, the car retains its original jack, tool kit, and is Porsche Classic certified.
